Miura Systems Helps to Bring Mobile Payments to the UAE for the First Time
Card readers integrate with Swiftch and Thales technology to offer businesses of all size flexible, secure mPOS payments
London, 10th June 2016 - Mobile payments leader Miura Systems has scored another win after helping to bring mPOS to the Middle East for the first time in a new solution designed for merchants of all sizes operating in the UAE.
The new mPOS offering will combine the Miura M006 or M010 card machines with a mobile application from innovative Dubai-based payments start-up Swiftch and end-to-end encryption functionality from digital security specialist Thales.
Tight integration between Thales’ payShield hardware security modules (HSMs), the Miura devices and the app will create a point to point encryption (P2PE) zone between the card acceptance point and the internet-based payment gateway for a PCI-compliant solution – offering maximum security to merchants.
Now businesses of all sizes in the UAE can benefit from the flexibility of mPOS to drive sales and improve the customer experience by taking card payments anywhere.
It will particularly appeal to small and medium sized firms who can now process card payments out and about: for example, at restaurants, pop-up venues, street markets, and even when making home deliveries.
The M010 is a beautifully simple and powerful device which offers businesses the flexibility to take card payments wherever their customers are, and cut the queues which can lead to lost sales.
It communicates with the Swiftch smartphone or tablet based app via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth for a fast, seamless and highly secure payment experience.
What’s more, it supports Apple Pay, Android Pay and contactless cards to offer customers even more options for next generation payments.
The Miura M006, aka Shuttle, is one of the world’s most successful mPOS and Chip and PIN devices, bringing the power of mobile payments to retailers, micro-merchants and business people on the move.
Giving customers the choice to pay via the method they want to is a win-win for businesses, helping to drive sales and keep consumers happy.
Despite having high internet and smartphone penetration rates and a highly developed IT infrastructure, the region has been slow to adopt card payments up until now.
The Swiftch solution therefore has the backing of the local government, which wants to transform the UAE into a cashless society ahead of Expo 2020 through innovative, flexible payment platforms like this.
