London, 19th October 2016 - Payments and POS leader Miura Systems has achieved successful certification for PCI Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) Application and Component standards, in a move which will provide immediate benefit to Miura partners looking to gain PCI P2PE certified solutions, significantly reducing the overall time and spend required for them to bring a commercial P2PE offering to their end customers.
P2PE is a PCI standard, which ensures card data is encrypted from the moment the plastic is inserted into a machine until it reaches the payment processor.
In the current climate of increasing numbers of data breaches at the Point of Sale P2PE certified solutions are now highly sought after by retailers of all sizes because it significantly reduces the scope of PCI compliance requirements, saving time and money, as well as providing peace of mind that any payments are secured to the highest standards significantly reducing the opportunity for fraud.
Previously P2PE validation was only available for complete solutions, combining elements including POS hardware, POS application, Key Management , host payment processing, logistics and so on.
