One of the highlights of the past 12 months for Miura Systems has been the launch of the POSzle, our modular tablet POS hardware bundle, with integrated payment. It’s already been shortlisted for the Best In-Store Payments Solution gong at the prestigious Payments Awards 2016 in October. And we think its combination of practical design, unrivalled connectivity and unique modularity will make it a hit with payment service providers and POS developers in the SMB space.

Renowned market analyst 451 Group agrees, in a new report which claims the platform will help expand Miura’s value proposition to existing channel partners and offer much for new ISVs and POS software developers around the world.

The POSzle difference
POSzle offers something the market hasn’t seen before. It’s a tightly integrated bundle of thermal printer, tablet stand, mPOS device (M007 or M010) and cradle, and Smart Hub. The latter is the glue that binds the platform together, allowing integration with Miura and third party peripherals such as cash drawers and scanners, and the POS software. Running on top of the Smart Hub is a Retail API which removes complexity for software integrators, allowing them to tap straight into key hardware. And an SDK makes integration child’s play for iOS and Android software developers.

It’s all about offering our partners – and SMBs across the globe – the flexibility they crave. Payments can be taken from a fixed Point of Sale, or the tablet and PED can be unlocked to offer the kind of retail mobilisation proven to drive sales and transform the shopping experience for customers. The platform’s modularity also ensures that retailers can add extra elements as their business grows.

Next stop, the world
In its new report, Miura Systems broadens its mPoS position with the launch of POSzle, 451 Group predicts that the sheer quality of the Miura hardware, the ease of integration and modularity offered by POSzle will help us expand influence in the tablet POS market and drive mPOS sales.

It explains:

POSzle addresses a number of important market dynamics, including the migration to tablet PoS in the SMB sector and the need for modularity in an increasingly fragmented PoS landscape. It is also well-suited for what 451 Research calls ‘hybrid PoS deployments’ – a growing trend in the retail and hospitality verticals. POSzle enables merchants to operate their PoS system as both fixed and mobile services, with the ability to easily detach both the tablet and M007 device to serve customers at the cash wrap or on the sales floor.

It offers something to existing mPOS partners looking to move upstream with an end-to-end POS offering, as well as appealing to new partners including tablet POS app providers in need of a comprehensive SMB product, says 451 Group.

Like us, the analyst reckons Europe, Asia and the US are all fertile markets for this kind of offering, and we’ve already started building out our partnerships to target these regions.
